About The National Independent Talent Organization
The National Independent Talent Organization (NITO) is a non-profit 501 (c) 6 organization that was founded by a group of like-minded US based independent talent agencies and independent management companies for the purpose of promoting the welfare of our members and their represented artists. NITO advocates for the direct benefit of our members as well as for the indirect benefit of associate members represented in a broad coalition of entities in the live touring ecosystem.
Currently, NITO is advocating in Congress the passage of the RESTART, Save Our Stages and HITS Acts as well as supporting ExtendPUA.org, amongst other bills which would benefit the independent music industry community.
Independent Talent Agents and Managers represent and work behind the scenes as the direct conduit between the artists and the countless people whose livelihoods depend on one another: Publicists, Social Media Managers, Promoters and their staff, Travel Agents, Record Companies, Tour and Production Managers, Sound, Lighting and Backline Technicians, Riggers, Gaffers, Truck and Bus Drivers, Freight Companies, Venue Staff (Box Office, Ticket Takers, Ushers, Security, Concessionaires, Caterers, Marketers, Stagehands, Loaders, Hospitality, Runners, Local Transport, Janitorial), Accounting, Airlines, Hotels, Rental Vehicles, and Ticketing Companies, etc.
NITO membership comprises more than one hundred independent talent agencies and over one hundred independent management companies across the US representing thousands of artists spanning countless genres and household names. In 2019, collectively, more than 100,000 concerts were booked by NITO’s members across the U.S. with over 25 million tickets sold, generating in excess of $7.5 billion dollars in gross ticket sales. The economic impact from NITO-generated concerts in each local community injects a staggering $90 billion dollars annually.
While it is still unknown when it will be safe to experience the thrill of a concert in person again,NITO will continue our efforts on behalf of the artists we represent and our role as the engine that helps to employ and support all of those who depend on our work. NITO will fight to keep this community alive until it’s safe again to gather with friends and other fans to share these experiences that are some of the best moments of our lives.
We need and want to be assured that our voices are heard in Congress and Washington.
